Wangenigen UR is both a University and a Research centre. Its projects are conducted in collaboration between the university and specialised research institutions. Wangenigen’s mission is ‘To explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life.’ Its specialisms lie in the three interrelated areas: Food and Food Production, Living Environment and Health, Lifestyle and Livelihood.

Their Nutrition and Health group run a number of academic courses including Master’s degrees in Food Safety and Food Technology.

 They are also involved in several projects, which have a focus on personalised nutrition.

They have an on-site Restaurant of the Future, which provides an opportunity to experiment with new delivery methods and food preparation systems, as well as observations of consumer behaviour.
